  • Profile: Established in 1972, China Metallurgical Equipment Corporation (MECC) has become a group enterprise over more than 20 years¡¯ development. It is mainly involved in manufacturing complete sets of metallurgical equipment, but also involved in various business and technical services of other sectors, both at home and abroad. To date, MECC has manufactured and supplied the main construction equipment of Baosteel¡¯s 2nd and 3rd Phases, as well as the blast furnaces, coke ovens, sinter plants, mines, docks, raw material yards, electric power stations, environment protection devices, converters, EAF, concasters, rolling mills and other innovation projects of the WISCO, Tangshan, Chongqing, Xuanhua, Panzhihua, Taiyuan, Ma¡¯anshan, Meishan, Laiyang, Jiuquan, Hangzhou and Shanghai No.1 I/S corporations for nearly 100 projects of national key metallurgical construction. With first class advanced technology in the world, MECC and SMS has co-contracted three sets of thin slab casting and rolling mill projects. The first set of thin slab casting and rolling mill in China, was established and successfully commissioned on Aug. 26th, 1999 in Zhujiang I/S Corp..Additionally, MECC is developing and enlarging overseas business for exporting metallurgical equipment and electrical machinery, such as large-scale mining devices, metal-making devices, complete sets of bar mill (including 750,000t bar mill exporting to Turkey), stainless wire rod mill, equipment for cement plant, and had succeeded supplying equipment for the Saindak Copper-gold Mine in Pakistan and other overseas projects. In the process, MECC has established close and co-operative long-term relationships with dozens of mechanical and electrical equipment manufacturers and suppliers from Europe, America, Japan, South-east Asia, CIS, etc. As the core enterprise of the China Metallurgical Equipment Group, MECC is involved in sectors of metallurgy, nonferrous metals, building materials, environment protection and light industry.
